I am a landscape and figurative artist, and try to reflect experiences that have affected me emotionally. I work from home in an attic studio using a sketchbook and photos as source material. My work concentrates on people, landscapes and townscapes, at home and abroad, using a variety of media such as pastel, oil, acrylic and watercolour. I am constantly experimenting with texture, light, colour, and shape, and am drawn to the impressionists and contemporary artists such as John Blockley and Mark Leach. I usually like to work on several paintings at once to keep my work fresh and alive. I paint every day and like to paint what I see. I find there is nothing better than painting outside from life with my oils and palette knife.

I attend a weekly life drawing group which helps me focus on line and shape.

1970 Studied Art at Avery Hill College Eltham

1971 to present day continued to paint whilst raising a family and working part time and then on to full time. I exhibited locally throughout this time.
